Dealers/Integrators: Suppliers That Shined During Supply Chain Stress
SSI’s 2023 Stellar Service Awards honor suppliers who performed beyond customer expectations in particularly challenging times.
Earlier this week, we unveiled the winners of the 2023 SSI Supplier Stellar Service Awards, highlighting 18 honorees in 29 categories ranging from manufacturers to distributors to central stations.
We’ve also looked at why these companies stood out among the crowd and what you can do to earn the recognition from your customers in 2024 as well as heard from some of the companies who nominated their favorite suppliers on why they deserved to be a gold, silver or bronze medalist.
Now, we’ll pull out a few of the comments from dealers and integrators about how their suppliers shined when the conditions became especially challenging with supply chain snafus all over the world.
SSI‘s Supplier Stellar Service Awards recognize manufacturers, distributors and third-party monitoring centers that deliver the highest levels of service and support to installing dealers and integrators, who cast votes to determine gold, silver and bronze medal level winners.
Overcoming Supply Chain Obstacles
Let’s hear from a few of this year’s voters:
- “Alibi was proactive in helping us anticipate supply chain problems earlier than anyone. They offered special incentives for purchasing and later substituted products for gaps in the chain.”
- “Alula stayed consistent with production and availability of units available during COVID shortages. With the cellular demise and the critical replacement of cellular units for communication on our entire customer base, as a company we went with Alula primarily because they were the only manufacturer that had units available. Now that inventory has stabilized with all manufacturers, we continue to use Alula as it has proven reliable, affordable and, frankly, the best out of the major carriers available.”
- “Avigilon has been very good about getting us updates with constant communication on an almost weekly basis. They have also managed to keep their supply lines and avoid significant delays.”
- “DMP has avoided the majority of supply chain issues throughout the pandemic. We have been able to obtain everything needed from them without significant interruption.”
- “Potter was hit hard toward the end of COVID with supply issues since other dealers were jumping over to them and drying up the supply. They went out of their way to run 24-hour shifts and man factories and find new components to try and catch up when the high demand. The leadership has been very forthcoming and transparent about the current manufacturing situation and expected lead times on products.”
- “Rhombus went above and beyond in supporting their partners. The partner support and customer support has been top notch. They have been ultra-responsive to my needs and we have closed multiple six-figure deals thanks to their help. They are truly doing security sales differently than other manufacturers we work with.”
- “When possible, SES always attempts to find the needed equipment at another branch if they don’t have it in stock. They also provide great communication about lead times and times that might be backordered.”
- “Snap One cleared up a messy shipping situation and miscommunication with a shipper recently, and what stuck out is that they really cared — a trait that we seem to be losing in many facets of service these days.”
- “Wesco has done quite a bit of work to get items into our warehouse. Even if they could only get us a partial order, they have been fantastic on follow-up.”
