SSI’s Most Valuable Security Products of 2022: Recognizing R&D That Makes an MVP
Security customer satisfaction is achieved through the hand-in-glove combination of technology and technique (deployment). SSI’s Most Valuable Product (MVP) Awards program points a fınger at solutions worthy of a big thumbs up.
While it is often an overused word, it is worth noting that value carries multiple meanings. According to the dictionary, they include 1) “the regard that something is held to deserve; the importance, worth, or usefulness of something. 2) a person’s principles or standards of behavior; one’s judgment of what is important in life. 3) estimate the monetary worth of something.; consider someone or something to be important or benecial; have a high opinion of.”
Those definitions are all positives, and for security dealers and integrators the optimal technology solution for their business and customers should check most if not all those boxes.
The search for such offerings lies at the heart of Security Sales & Integration’s Most Valuable Products (MVPs) awards. Now in its eighth year, SSI’s MVPs program has once again honored many of the industry’s foremost manufacturers and suppliers for bringing the installing and monitoring marketplace useful new hardware and software to make the most of existing and emerging opportunities.
Program winners received the exciting news when the official announcement was made to coincide with the ISC West event in Las Vegas. This year’s 31 submissions were judged by a panel of seasoned security dealers, integrators and industry consultants on innovation, functionality, competitive advantages, benefits to the installer or monitoring provider, and benefits to the end user.
This year awards went to 11 recipients in nine categories: Access Control, Business Operations, Central Station/Monitoring, Fire/Life Safety, Home Controls, Intrusion Detection, Miscellaneous Security Products, Security Apps and Video Surveillance.
Particularly emerging from an extended period in which, due to the pandemic, security expos were either totally shut down or poorly attended, the MVP program affords dealers and integrators an alternative means to discover and vet portfolio additions. To be considered, products had to have been released in the past 18 months or set to be available during 2022.
The 2022 winners — Alarm.com; Alula; AtlasIED; Bosch Security and Safety Systems; D-Tools; iDter.com; LifeSafety Power; LiftMaster; Nexkey; Proxess; and Turing AI — as well as all the runners-up each deserve a closer evaluation as judging was once again extremely competitive.
Congratulations to this year’s MVPs! (Note: write-ups are edited versions of submitted descriptions.)
