Robotic Assistance Devices (RAD) is adding gun detection to its version 7 analytics software suite.
DETROIT — Artificial Intelligence Technology Solutions has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Robotic Assistance Devices (RAD), will incorporate gun detection into the upcoming release of its version 7 analytics software.
RAD has also announced that a new partnership with Centralized Vision for active monitoring of gun detection alerts will be offered for all RAD deployments for free subject to terms and conditions that will be announced later this year.
“When Steve shared with me that RAD would be extending the use of this analytic for free, we immediately wanted to participate at the most accessible pricing possible – free,” says Tom Vigilante, founder and president of Centralized Vision. “Our staff loves the RAD software and working with their team. We’re thrilled to participate in activities that could provide significant improvements to clients’ safety and security.”
Robotic Assistance Device’s gun detection is said to identify the presence of side arms and long-gun firearms. Once clients opt-in to the gun detection option, as soon as a gun is identified by the company’s AI-driven analytics the system will perform a variety of actions that include activating a local autonomous alert; it will send notifications to remote monitoring stations, onsite security and the appropriate authorities in an ideal circumstance that occurs before shots are fired.
“The gun detection analytic has been on our perception team’s roadmap for over a year,” comments Steve Reinharz, CEO of Artificial Intelligence Technology Solutions and Robotic Assistance Devices. “We hope that inclusion of this analytic and monitoring support will encourage more clients to deploy our solutions.”
According to the company, gun detection is one of many elements its upcoming incident management system will manage, and the company also emphasizes that as part of its gun detection technologies RAD products do not engage in any kind of crowd scanning where people can be identified using facial recognition technologies.
“I expect that the acceptance of RAD solutions in certain markets including schools, large gathering events, sports venues, and government facilities will be accelerated because of this gun detection analytic,” notes Mark Folmer, president of Robotic Assistance Devices. “It’s our hope that these tools, combined with revised social standards, laws and government policies can produce a safer society.”
