Alarm.com Opens Expanded Boston Office With Increased Product Testing Areas

Alarm.com opened a new office in Boston with more product testing space and areas for employees to relax here and there.
Alarm.com on Monday (June 12) announced the opening of the new Boston office, located at 18 Tremont St., in the heart of the city between the Boston Common and Faneuil Hall Marketplace.
The expansion of Alarm.com’s Boston office was necessitated by the company’s desire to support the growing team in that region with a larger space, additional meeting rooms, a larger testing area for products and room to unwind like in the secret game room with a pub-like vibe.
The new space was designed by Fusion Design Consultants, who looked to the city for inspiration, including the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) public transportation system, with general lighting influenced by the train map and conference rooms named after local T stations.
Alarm.com “reinvented the security system” 20 years ago, according to the company announcement. Today, the company’s services protect and connect millions of home and business owners.
In addition to expanding its physical footprint in the communities where its employees work, Alarm.com is an active member of the communities it works in and has a Charitable Giving Program that aims to positively impact the needs of under-served communities, children’s health and education, STEM initiatives, first responders, as well as disaster response.
Inside Alarm.com’s New Boston Office
The Alarm.com Boston office has 35 employees and includes open roles for software engineer and software technical lead, among other positions. Alarm.com is headquartered in Tysons, Va., and has more than 1,800 full-time employees. Boston is one of more than 20 office locations for Alarm.com, which has offices from Brooklyn, N.Y., to Amsterdam, Netherlands.
The Boston office is located at 18 Tremont St., a 12-story building constructed in 1902. The building encompasses over 200,000 square feet of office and retail space and features a range of tenant amenities, including common conference facilities, a fitness center with locker rooms and bicycle storage.
The property received the Best in Building Health Award for 2022 through Fitwel, a certification system that evaluates and recognizes the health and wellness attributes of buildings. It has also received an annual ENERGY STAR rating since 2018.
