Motorola Solutions Acquires Video Analytics Provider Calipsa
Calipsa is the latest addition to Motorola Solutions’ Video Security & Access Control organization, which now includes Avigilon, IndigoVision, Pelco, Envysion, Openpath and Ava Security.
CHICAGO — Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI) announces it has acquired Calipsa, a technology provider of Cloud-native advanced video analytics based in London. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Calipsa’s scalable platform enables businesses to optimize security with AI-powered analytics that verify alarms, enable content-based searches, detect tampering and assess the health of cameras in real time. The solution is relied upon by enterprise and security monitoring customers around the world, according to the company.Cloud, is driving the future of video security,” says Greg Brown, chairman and CEO, Motorola Solutions. “With Calipsa, we can rapidly extend our intelligent analytics across any video security solution and support the accelerating trend of enterprises using Cloud technologies to enhance safety and security.”

This deal is just the latest in a series of acquisitions from Motorola Solutions to bolster its new Video Security & Access Control organization, which includes the Avigilon, IndigoVision, Pelco, Envysion and Openpath product suites. The company most recently acquired Ava Security, another London-based provider of Cloud-native video security and analytics, last month.
