ISC Turns Vegas Into Security City
They say it doesn’t matter where visitors stay in Las Vegas. After all, between the gambling, live shows and endless buffets, tourists don’t spend much time sleeping. And considering the International Security Conference’s (ISC) almost 700 exhibition booths, awards presentations, association meetings, social events and contests, the same could be said for security industry insiders attending the annual conference in Las Vegas from March 30 to April 2.
Attendees will have full agendas because ISC is not the average trade show; there is certainly more to it than pounding the pavement, watching endless product demonstrations and collecting piles of business cards.
The huge product displays give security contractors the inside scoop on technological trends and advances. Major manufacturers will show off their latest products and, at Booth No. 19119, the Security Sales & Integration staff will be available to discuss the latest industry news and developments.
Members of groups like the Security Industry Association (SIA) and the National Fire Burglar Alarm Association (NBFAA) attend association meetings during the four-day event.
Numerous seminars cultivate attendees’ knowledge of the industry, and provide them with inside tips on building better businesses.
But all work and no play make contractors and installers very dull, which is why SSI’s 9th Annual Sales and Marketing (SAMMY) Awards will be presented in Las Vegas for the second time.
Attendees should rest up. Between the booths, panels and entertainment, they’ll be very busy at ISC.
SSI’s 9th Annual SAMMY Awards Mix Business With Pleasure
Starting ISC off with a bang, the Tuesday, March 30 SAMMY Awards honor electronic security contractors who display exemplary marketing programs and installations.
The presentation, held at 4:30 p.m. at the Venetian Resort Hotel & Casino, recognizes specific achievements, but also provides an opportunity for security industry colleagues to network and socialize over cocktails and hors d’ oeuvres.
Heads of major companies will also attend, allowing contractors to meet their suppliers and vice versa.
And if this year’s presentation is anything like the previous eight, attendees will gather useful tips and hints to improve their businesses’ marketing and installation programs. After all, they’re in the company of the crème de la crème, who offer the best of the following categories:
Commercial Sales Brochure; Residential Sales Brochure; Direct-Mail Sales Piece; Yellow-Page Ad Design; Company Web Site Design; Company Logo/Vehicle Design; Television/Radio Advertisement; Promotional Item; Company Newsletter; Business Card Design; Integrated Commercial/Industrial “Installation of the Year”; and Integrated Residential “Installation of the Year.” (For a complete list of finalists, click here.)
SIA’s New Product Showcase Picks the Most Innovative Wares
While SAMMYs attendees will undoubtedly have a great time, they should get a good night’s sleep because the next three days at ISC are packed with speakers, seminars and panel discussions.
The first of many speakers is former New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik, who will deliver the annual Industry Summit’s keynote address on Wednesday, March 31 at 9 a.m.
Certainly familiar with security issues, Kerik will detail his experience of working alongside former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani during the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.
Following Kerik’s address, SIA’s New Product Showcase (NPS) judging begins at 10 a.m. The annual event recognizes companies for creating innovative new products, but also shows buyers the latest and greatest developments.
