Ajax Systems Launches New Smart Home Sensors, Fire-Safety Detectors
The Ukrainian company Ajax Systems held its fourth annual Comfort Zone event in which it announced a number of new products.
KYIV, UKRAINE — Ajax Systems recently held its fourth annual Comfort Zone event and during the proceedings, the company announced several new products in a range of categories that include security and smart home.
As part of the international press event, Ajax touched upon the invasion of its home country and the moves it had made to relocate and maintain its daily operations. During the Comfort Zone event Ajax Systems noted that it is currently employing a staff of 2,500 people that includes more than 500 engineers.
Additionally, the company stresses that it is finishing the construction of a second factory in Turkey; it has increased its production in the Ukraine by 30%, and its developers collaborated on the Air Alert app to provide Ukrainians with a missile alert system on a smartphone.
The Ukrainian company signed a distribution agreement with U.S. wholesale distributor SS&Si Dealer Network earlier this year to provide Ajax professional security systems to its customers.
Ajax Systems Announces New Products, App Updates During Comfort Zone Event
Announced availability for sometime during the fourth quarter of 2022, the first of Ajax Systems’ new products is a professional indoor air quality monitor that measures CO2, temperature and humidity levels. Ajax states the product combines security and comfort all within a single device.
Ajax boasts its new LifeQuality product incorporates Swiss and Swedish sensors that are used in medical equipment, and the unit is designed to provide reliable data.
Corresponding with the launch of the products, Ajax has updated the interfaces in its app with the addition of charts. Users now see the current indicators, and they can view items such as their history for several days, they can view weekly statistics, monthly data, yearly data, and the information can be used to help users to understand the dynamics of air quality.
Other features built into the LifeQuality monitor include a light indicator that instantly reports CO2 level by tapping the Ajax logo. It glows yellow, red, or purple if the concentration of carbon dioxide exceeds the norm.
Addressing another smart home category during the Comfort Zone event, Ajax Systems’ newly introduced LightSwitch enables users to control a wide range of illumination devices, both onsite and remotely through Ajax apps.
LightSwitch features a large touch-sensitive panel that responds to a tap or contactless activation — enough to put a hand at least 15 mm close (just over a half inch) to the device to the light turns on. The product’s soft LED backlight allows users to employ the switch in dark rooms, and the sound and vibration of LightSwitch are designed to provide the familiar feeling of a mechanical switch.
Ajax Systems’ WaterStop is a water shutoff valve with remote control. According to the company, WaterStop helps to build a fully automated leak prevention system with professional security technology reliability. The device consists of a Bonomi valve and an electric actuator that shuts off the water automatically by command from the Ajax app or a button pressed onsite.
As part of an Ajax security system, WaterStop utilizes proven technologies. The actuator works on batteries for up to three years while being able to shut off the water within a matter of seconds. Commands are issued by a Jeweller radio protocol that has a communication range of up to 1,100 meters (more than 3,600 feet), and the WaterStop device features encryption, frequency hopping, and jamming detection.
Moving out of the smart home and into the security market, Ajax Systems launched the FireDetect2 line of detectors.
Developed for residential fire safety, Ajax developed a patented smoke chamber that is dustproof and impenetrable for insects. Internally, the detector has a dual-spectrum optical sensor that can distinguish smoke from water steam.
The second sensor in the detector is the thermistor. Ajax Systems points out this sensor quickly distinguishes a temperature spike, which gives a significant advantage when synthetic materials burn. An extended version of the detector with an additional carbon monoxide sensor was presented as well.
Both detectors have versions with replaceable or sealed batteries. The device works up to seven years from a replaceable battery and at least 10 years using a sealed battery.
On the software side of the announcements it made during the Comfort Zone event, Ajax Systems emphasized a number of app updates.
Now, the interface considers the structure of the human body, movements and interaction context. This enables users to turn on the device without having to glance at their smartphones. In the new control tab, devices are sorted by pages, so users just need to swipe to the side — and the next batch of buttons is always there in the same place. New dark mode, improved fonts, cross-platform consistency, quick access to automation devices — get all this in Ajax apps by the end of this year.
Providing users a trio of new software updates, Ajax says that it is adding three features users have been waiting for a long time: keypad access codes for unregistered users, photos by any device alarm and temperature scenarios.
Access codes for unregistered users: This feature allows assigning a person or company a separate access code in the hub settings without creating an Ajax account. This option eliminates the need to register office employees, cleaning companies, or real estate agents in the Ajax app. When a code is used, this will appear with the user name in the events feed and push notification. Access codes for unregistered users are available with OS Malevich 2.13.1.
Photos by any device alarm: Ajax has expanded the capabilities of the Photo by Scenario function. Now PhOD-labeled detectors can take photos by alarm of any device, including an opening detector, a panic button, or another motion detector. This feature is also available with OS Malevich 2.13.1.
Temperature scenarios: The Ajax detectors displayed the temperature in the apps, but this information was only available for viewing. Now Ajax devices that indicate temperature in the app can trigger a temperature scenario: A motion detector, an opening detector, and a siren, except for an automation device (Relay/WallSwitch/Socket). Ajax Systems explains this means the heater will turn on if, for example, the temperature of three detectors in the room drops below 15°. Temperature scenarios will become available with OS Malevich 2.14.

Concluding the announcements it made during the Comfort Zone event, Ajax Systems closed with several other product and software updates:
- The partner portal: To improve cooperation with partners, the company announced the partner portal on the Ajax website. The portal gives authorized Ajax partners access to partner programs, including training, marketing support and incentive systems. The partner portal will become available this autumn in the UK, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Scandinavian, and Benelux countries.
- Ajax-Ready label: The company presented Ajax Ready, a label for new independent products based on an Ajax security system. This is a whole new direction for partners who see more system applications and want to discover new vertical markets.
- PRO Desktop 3.4 update: To give company owners, installers, and operators a tool to work even more effectively, Ajax presented PRO Desktop update with new crucial functionality: the maintenance report. This tool allows for the quick access to information on security devices at a glance. Some of the options available to users through this feature include hub status, battery levels, communication status, and other critical parameters.
- Co-branded app for Ajax partners: Ajax believes in the synergy with partners, therefore it has developed a co-branded app. This app is available for security companies that want to increase their brand awareness. Every time clients open the Ajax app, they interact with service providers. From the convenience perspective, clients have quick access to contacts and billing information. This replaces calls and payment reminders, as the company is directly connected with the client through the app.
- Misc Solutions: Ajax released a new DIN Holder bracket to allow integrators to mount a relay or WallSwitch on a DIN rail, and Ajax added a new Socket Plus (type G) device with arc fault protection product to its lineup.
