Kwikset to Show Home Connect 620 at ISC West 2023
In booth #25099 at ISC West, Kwikset will highlight its new Home Connect 620 smart lock, which features wireless Z-Wave Technologies to enable dealers to integrate the lock into smart home environments.
LAKE FOREST, Calif.—The Kwikset brand of Spectrum Brands, Inc.—Hardware & Home Improvement Division, a developer of residential security solutions, will showcase its new Home Connect 620 smart lock at ISC West 2023.
The annual trade event takes place on March 29-31 in Las Vegas, and the company says it will be exhibiting in Booth #25099.
The Z-Wave enabled Home Connect 620 smart lock provides options such as 10-button keypad with one-touch locking, and the company points out, the product is its first smart lock in the “Home Connect” line. The lock is also the company’s first lock featuring the latest Z-Wave 700 chip technology, which includes the convenience of Z-Wave SmartStart and the security of the S2 framework.
Home Connect 620 Complements Modern Smart Homes
Kwikset explains the incorporation of the new Z-Wave 700 Series provides a number of significant enhancements, including wireless security features that reduce the vulnerability of the network during enrollment. In addition the company continues, devices using the Z-Wave 700 Series will consume 64% less power for wireless communication, and the technology allows for resting when the device is not being used. Plus, the three optional layers of security that the 500 Series chip offered are now mandatory and enhanced in the Z-Wave 700 Series.
Furthermore, the 700-Series is expected to allow for communication that is 250% further than the Z-Wave Plus 500-Series, a major increase in wireless range.
Kwikset boasts that dealers can use the Z-Wave SmartStart, users can enroll devices by scanning a QR code even before beginning installation to provide an easier and faster way to gain interoperability and control of the Home Connect 620. The S2 framework provides an additional layer of AES 128- bit encryption of wireless signals for increased device security.
Externally, the Home Connect 620 features a sleek, all-metal design, as well as a choice of traditional or contemporary styling. Kwikset emphasizes the newly announced Home Connect 620 connected smart lock is designed to integrate with a variety of smart home systems and the product serves as a complementary“entry-level” smart lock.
Supporting the lock’s smart home capabilities, the Home Connect 620 offers homeowners a complete remote locking/unlocking when using smart devices, and the lock integrates into advanced control and automation systems from companies such as Crestron, Control4, and Savant.
In addition, the Home Connect 620 can hold up to 250 user access codes and receive notifications from anywhere there is an Internet connection through a home automation system. Homeowners can quickly send personalized access codes to family and guests. The Mastercode feature of the Home Connect 620 protects commands and settings to prevent lock tampering and can be managed wirelessly for additional security and lock management.
