How the Batavia, N.Y. Fire Department Secured Its Stations With Bosch Security Solutions
The Batavia Fire Department has added Bosch security systems to its two facilities for video recording, access control and more.
Batavia, N.Y.'s fire department facilities now employ Bosch Security systems to manage visitor access and the overall security of the buildings.
BATAVIA, N.Y. — Safeguarding its facilities, the Batavia Fire Department has installed Bosch security systems into its fire stations.
The systems provide video surveillance, access control and fire detection capabilities for the town’s two fire stations, and the town views the systems as a means to protect taxpayers’ investment into municipal properties.
“We take security and safety very seriously,” says Tim Yaeger, Town of Batavia Fire Department board of director.
“By securing our taxpayers’ investments in public safety assets and equipment, we’re protecting what protects them.”
The town points out the systems employ 27 FLEXIDOME IP 5000i cameras around the interior and exterior of the buildings, and DIVAR IP all-in-one IP solutions support the cameras with video recording and video management. Access control for the facilities’ interior and exterior doors are designed to restrict visitors access to the buildings’ living quarters and fitness centers.
Other features built into the Batavia, N.Y. fire department systems include the ability to utilize the Bosch Security Manager app for G Series Control Panels. The app allows authorized users to lock and unlock doors remotely to grant access to facility visitors.
Later, there are plans to build upon the Batavia Fire Department’s Bosch Security systems with advanced programming functionality for the access control capabilities to help ensure that volunteer members enter the decontamination room in the truck bay before they enter the buildings’ interiors in the event of an emergency.
“The stations needed video surveillance, access control, and fire systems. We chose to use a common manufacturer for the solution,” adds Dave Humphrey, owner, Humphrey Electric & Security. Humphrey Electric & Security, which is the company that installed the system.
