Vistacom Control Room Solutions Shows Latest in Operations Center Tech at GSX 2023
Company showcases modern security operations center and some of the capabilities that will empower security operators and SOC personnel.
Vistacom Control Room Solutions highlighted the latest in operations center technology during GSX 2023 in Dallas Sept. 11-13 (booth 4568) and marketing communications specialist shared his thoughts on what’s ahead for the company and the security industry as a whole.
What is the top product or offering you are showing off at GSX 2023, and what makes it unique or special from both security integrator and user perspectives?
At our core, Vistacom Control Room Solutions is a leading technology provider within the four walls of the operations center—from designing and building bespoke command and control visualization systems to deploying essential operator workstation solutions.
At GSX this year, we’re showcasing an example of what a modern Security Operations Center (SOC) can look like and some of the capabilities that will empower security operators and SOC personnel. It centers around simple, secure, and scalable video wall display technologies and console workstation solutions.
All too often, SOC managers and operations teams are faced with the overwhelming task of building their operations centers from end to end.
For both smaller agencies and larger enterprises, Vistacom specializes in not only streamlining that process and providing expertise in creating operator-centric environments, but we also work in tandem with security integrators and consultants who are involved in deploying endpoint technologies, such as access control or video surveillance, to effectively ingest all of that data you need into a centralized and easy-to-control visualization system.
What other products or offerings would you like to highlight, and what are some of qualities that differentiate them in the marketplace?
It’s straightforward for us: operators need display technologies and workstation solutions that are simple and easy to use, while supervisors and stakeholders need to implement SOC technology design and configuration standards that prove to be impenetrable from a cybersecurity standpoint as well as scalable for the enterprise in the long run.
These three principles are what we’re emphasizing at GSX this year. In today’s risk landscape, it’s evermore mission-critical to empower security operators, guards and other personnel with the right configuration of overview video wall and display technologies with spatial layout, technical furniture and the central operator workspaces.
What else is new or noteworthy about the company as the end of 2023 draws near?
The Vistacom Control Room Solutions group is excited to continually work with our key technology partners along with security integrators to build out mission-critical environments that align with the objectives of an organization’s security program.
It all begins and ends with the operator experience and relies on staying laser-focused on the major objectives for building or updating a SOC—such as addressing operational inefficiencies, improving visualization at both the workstation and overview video wall display, and let’s face it—maximizing IT spend.
An essential component of shaping the design-build of a SOC around improving the operator experience includes design and spatial factors that are too often overlooked, such as adopting user-friendly control interfaces or selecting operator-centric and ergonomic technical furniture that’s appropriate for the space.
What is your company’s overall value proposition to installing security dealers/integrators? Why should they partner with your company?
Vistacom is in fact a design-build firm that engages our partners for the design and incorporation of best-in-class technologies and furniture. Our team is all too familiar with the fact that it’s easy to overdesign, overengineer, and overcomplicate. We utilize various technology partners to maximize budgets, keep the SOC easy to manage, and address inefficiencies with the right systems and solutions.
With our strategic partners, we’re able to ensure that SOC management is thoroughly walked through the important questions to ask when designing their SOC layout and infrastructure, making the process much simpler and more aligned with the operational objectives.
Looking ahead at 2024, what do you see as some of the top opportunities in the marketplace? What about challenges?
At the end of the day, we have seen that by effectively building a modern SOC that drastically improves situational awareness and increases operator efficiency when it comes to monitoring, mitigating and responding to security threats, we provide noticeable ROI for enterprises.
It’s clear that SOC managers continue to search out how best to outfit or upgrade their environments with command and control visualization systems that are both state-of-the-art when it comes to displaying an array of endpoint source data, in addition to just being optimally functional for their operations teams.
The challenge is always maintaining simplicity, scalability, and security in a way that permeates the design. Vistacom is steadfast on centering our design-build approach around those three pillars of an operator’s needs.
Plus, no matter where you are in the world or what vertical you’re in, our control room experts constantly aim to streamline that process and create a control room ecosystem that functions specifically for your unique operations, your user applications and your needs for maintaining a security operations center in its future-state.
