Axis Communications, Genetec Raise Money for Mission 500
Karl Radke, Midwest business area director at Axis, and Jason Johnston, OKR practice lead at Genetec recently climbed Mount Whitney in California to raise money for the charity Mission 500.
CHELMSFORD, Mass.—Axis Communications, a developer of video surveillance solutions, and Genetec helped to support representatives from each organization when they summited California’s Mount Whitney on August 23, 2023.
Benefitting from the climb with accompanying donations from both Axis and Genetec is the nonprofit organization Mission 500. Taking part in the climb were Karl Radke, Midwest business area director at Axis, and Jason Johnston, OKR practice lead at Genetec. Radke and Johnston were also supported by their respective companies in their joint attempt to summit Mount Whitney.
Both companies point out that people followed Radke and Johnston’s climb along on social media with the hashtag #LetsGoWhitney as Axis’ Karl Radke and Genetec’s Jason Johnston climbed California’s Mount Whitney. According to Axis Communications and Genetec, Mount Whitney is the highest mountain in the lower 48 states with an altitude of 14,505’. The already challenging 21-mile round trip climb was made even more difficult thanks to the fact that the snowfall on Mount Whitney is currently 300% higher than normal – turning the intended “hike” into proper “mountaineering.”
In support of the climb, Axis and Genetec will each donate $2,500 to Mission 500, a nonprofit organization that works closely with the security industry to serve the needs of children and communities in crisis in the United States.
