‘America’s Mayor’ to Keynote ISC East
NEW YORK — The 2008 edition of the International Security Conference (ISC) East, presented by Reed Exhibitions, returns to Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City, Oct. 29-30. SECURITY SALES & INTEGRATION (Booth No. 2363) will be among the hundreds of exhibitors on the show floor.
Rudy Giuliani, former mayor of New York City, will provide a 
much-anticipated keynote address on the first day of the show at 11 a.m. Giuliani was selected to speak at the conference because of his vast knowledge of New York City’s infrastructure, as well as his leadership role in rebuilding the city in the wake of 9/11, Ed Nichols, industry vice president for Reed’s security and life safety portfolio, tells SSI.
“We are proud to present ‘America’s Mayor’ as our keynoter. Giuliani is homegrown for the metro-New York marketplace. He adds perspective and insight for security professionals who are charged with keeping life and property safe in one of the most complex areas in the world,” Nichols says.
More than 9,000 industry professionals are expected to attend the event for a chance to view the latest products and technology. Just some of the industry heavyweights scheduled to exhibit include ADI, Bosch, HID Global, Honeywell and Pelco. In all, about 500 manufacturers and suppliers will display their wares. Security equipment and systems product categories include commercial, industrial, residential and institutional. IP Institute, the ISC educational program, will present a wide offering of convergence instruction covering such topics as systems design, technology applications, networking, surveillance and management issues.
An “Enterprise Security Management” program offers topics and information focusing on multilevel convergence already occurring in logical security between IT, data, video, access control and integrated components.
